Affiliate disclosure

The short version: some links here earn us a small commission, it never costs you anything, and we'll always tell you which ones.

What that means

When someone posts a photo, they can tag the gear they used — the fog machine, the floodlights, the twelve-footer. Where we can match a tag to a real product, we link to it. Some of those links are affiliate links, which means if you buy something after clicking one, the retailer pays us a small percentage.

The price you pay is exactly the same either way. There is no markup, no surcharge, and no difference to you whatsoever.

How you can tell

Every gear panel that contains an affiliate link says so, right there underneath the tags. We only show that notice when a link is actually present — we don't claim relationships we don't have.

Links open in a new tab and carry rel="nofollow sponsored", which is the honest technical signal for a paid link.

What we don't do

• We don't rank anyone higher for tagging a product.
• We don't get paid to feature a particular haunt or brand.
• We don't add gear tags to other people's posts to earn from them — tags come from the person who posted, or from the community answering "where did you get that?"
• We don't quote prices next to affiliate links. Prices change constantly and a stale number helps nobody.

Amazon Associates, and retailer programmes operated through Impact (which may include Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart and Target). This list may change; the disclosure on each post is always accurate to that post.
